Today we...
We got new potato heads and cars to play with.
We read a book called A Nest Full of Eggs.
Talked about nests and learned that they are homes for birds. We learned that baby birds eat worms that the Mommy chews up for them. We looked at sequence cards of a birds life cycle.
We made a picture chart of all of the animals that grow in an egg.
We played with small plastic bugs and butterflies. We filled up jars and plastic eggs with them. We talked about the simmilarities between the butterflies and birds- that they both have wings and fly and that they come from eggs.
Holly made a picture of a roller coaster.
Jackson told us all about his baby Sister tickling him this morning.
Vin brought some Easter books to share with us.
Ceci and Vinny have been working hard at trying the potty.
We brought so many big containers to the park today to do water play with our friends. That was a great time!

Hi all! Today we were all so happy to have Jackson back! We started the day with painting bird shapes with red and yellow paint. We are making a bird mobile. We went out this afternoon to look for sticks that we can use to hang them from.
We talked about things that hatch from eggs. Holly told us that Dinosaurs hatch from eggs- she remembered from last week! Lizards, turtles, caterpillars, and birds also hatch from eggs! We watched videos on the computer of chicks, lizards, and turtles hatching from eggs. The children thought this was really cool.
We tried a 10 minute reading time today where the children have to find books they like and sit quietly and read. Everyone did well.
We took all of our books, dancing ribbons, and toys to the park today. It was busy with lots of kids and nannies. and the sun was shinning to- yeah!
Our ribbon dancing show is this Thursday- don't forget!
I am thinking that if everyone agrees I would like to try something new for snacks. I was wondering if one week a month each family can be responsible for bringing snack for everyone. It is just getting expensive to feed everyone healthy snacks and lunch and I thought we could all split the time and cost. Something simple- so big fuss. Let me know how you feel about this idea.
B- cereal and banana
S- crackers and raisins
L- PBJ, strawberries, and apple, milk

OK... so I am blogging about Tuesday( St. Pats day) as well as today.

On Tuesday we had a great green day! Vinny brought green cream cheese, green apples, zucchini muffins, and lucky charms- Thanks Basso family! Holly brought stickers and green snap peas- yum! We made shamrock collages and Leprechaun pictures with stickers. We also made green play dough with leprechaun glitter in it!
Jackson was gone spending time with his family and we missed him. All of our friends were very tired and took and almost 3 hour nap.
On Thursday we took a spontaneous field trip to farm day at the fair grounds. We got to see goats, miniature horses, bunnies, cows, sheep with their babies, turkeys, and chickens. Holly asked what the word miniature meant and wanted to know more words for big. We took a long look at the chickens because we are going to start talking about eggs. We had so much fun and it was very crowded! We went to the park after farm day.
We also played with plastic eggs and paper rolls. We tried to fit the eggs through them and also used them to make Birthday candles.
B- Yo baby and strawberries
S- peanut butter sammies
L- crackers, cheese, cherry tomato, turkey breast, and snap peas

Happy Thursday!
Today we...
Used tongs to move Cotton balls from big containers into smaller ones.
We talked about Ireland- that it is in Europe, its very green, and the people from Ireland are Irish. we watched Irish dancers on the computer and Jax would not like to be an Irish dancer.
Talked about things that are green and made a list. It was hard at first to think of random things that are green so I asked about foods, animals, and nature. When we got in the car to go to the park we kept our eyes open to look for other green things.
We talked more about St. pats day and leprechauns. We read some leprechaun tales and did some leprechaun finger plays. We talked about our green party(non political) that we are going to have next week.
We brought sand toys, dinosaurs, dancing ribbons and books to the park today to share with our park friends.
J and H met a little girl named Arabella at the park and saw her later through the fence at the swimming pool. Holly still really wishes she had $400 to join the pool and so do I. Jax said he has $4 and so do I.

We talked about the roots of a plant today and how they help give the plant food and water. we have been also talking about recycling paper and using less because it comes from trees. we learned that trees give us oxygen to breathe so we need them.
We also talked about leprechauns today and learned that luck is something good that can happen. Jackson told us he knew about Ireland from a book that his Dad bought for him.
